In this help article we will show you how to enable social share buttons for your details pages.

To enable social share buttons

Go to the Content Tab -> Details page settings and switch on Social Share buttons toggle:

Select one of available the style options and choose which social media buttons you want to display:

And save the changes.

Now your visitors will be able to share the details pages just with a click.

Make sure you have set meta tags for details pages to get a nice-looking previews when sharing. Please note, the meta tags of details pages will not work in the widget mode.

In this help article we will explain how to add images on your website.

First, ensure you have an image column (or multiple columns) on your Google Sheet, and proper column mapping in the SpreadSimple.

To display images on your website, SpreadSimple needs a link to an image file hosted online. E.g:

https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1536500152107-01ab1422f932

or

https://i.imgur.com/0JSkR76.jpg

The links to images should be put as text to the corresponding cells under the image column in your Google Sheet.

You should either upload images to a hosting service or use a link to an existing image.

We do not recommend using Google Drive and Dropbox to host images for SpreadSimple (and any other) websites as they don't work stably for that purpose, which may result in images disappearing.

Let's review several services that help to upload and host images.

Site-wide password protection

This feature allows you to hide your website, so only the visitors with the password are able to see your content.

Please note that your users will use the same passwords that you set in your dashboard.

How to set a password

Go to the Settings Tab → Site-wide passwords menu and switch on the Password protection toggle.

Type your password in the Passwords text area.

You can set more than one password, just add a new one from the new line every time.

Save the changes. Now your website can be accessed only after entering the password (or one of the passwords).

Once you change the password and save the changes, the visitor with the old password won't be able to access the website after they refresh the page.

You can also use password protection when your website is already published but still is not finished and you don't want anyone to see it yet.

Protect only your Google Sheet content (cards/listings)

You can hide only the content that comes from your Sheet, if you like.

Setting up Drift

Add a Drift chat widget to your website in a few simple steps:

In your SpreadSimple Dashboard, open Add-ons Tab and select Drift.

Then toggle on Enable.

Paste your Drift ID and click Save.

Publish your website and your chat widget is ready!

How to find your Drift ID:

Log In to your Drift account and go to App settings.
Select Drift Widget.

In the Drift Widget menu, expand Install options and choose Javascript.
Your Drift ID is in that code, in brackets next to drift.load. Highlight and copy the text in quotations between those brackets.

The OSM Maps Add-on allows you to use this map on your websites without any restrictions on the number of views and additional charges.

This is a built-in integration which means you don’t need to set it up and you can use it right away.

Here on SpreadSimple you can bind arbitrary CSS classes to a specific row of an element and set custom styles for them. For example, you can highlight certain classes by using the built-in

sv-is-highlighted

class name to highlight the featured element.

To do this, you don't need to set up additional column mapping, just add a column in your Google Sheets and name it

(with a dot at the beginning). Then add sv-is-highlighted to the necessary rows:
